A line of roses lines the street where Michael Brown was shot
Do you remember Michael Brown? Or Ferguson? The whole uprising after a black young man was shot ten times for a very minor crime? That his body was left at the spot for hours after that? That research showed that more black people are unnecessarily killed by police officers? How Brown’s mother told a newsreporter: “Do you know how hard it was for me to get him to stay in school and graduate? Do you know how many black men graduate? Not many!”? And how this event was the most disturbing wake up call the world could ask for to raise awareness for color inequality?
Now there’s a line of roses. I hope the roses continue to tell Michael Brown’s story, I hope the roses prevent other (black) people from being shot.
